P454 – Design for Forge & Heat Treat Shop

As part of a critical expansion effort at Naval Base Kitsap – Bangor, certain operations needed to be relocated, triggering substantial earthwork and site development activities. RAM GeoServices, Inc. was contracted as the Geotechnical Engineer of Record, supporting this high-priority military infrastructure upgrade.

To meet the project’s demands, RAM designed and implemented a comprehensive geotechnical exploration program to evaluate the site’s subsurface conditions and generate the technical data necessary for design and construction planning. The program included:

  • Ten Test Pits – Excavated to an average depth of 8 feet, offering valuable insight into surface and shallow subsurface soils.
  • Two Infiltration Test Pits – Used to assess on-site infiltration capacity and support planning for future drainage infrastructure.
  • Six Geotechnical Borings – Drilled to varying depths to collect deeper subsurface profiles essential for earthwork and structural design.

Following field exploration, all soil samples were sent to the lab for detailed geotechnical analysis, helping determine material characteristics and their suitability for the planned construction activities.

With a proven track record supporting complex infrastructure projects for federal clients, RAM GeoServices delivers high-precision geotechnical data and consulting that guides sound engineering decisions. Our ability to manage and execute large-scale investigations with accuracy, speed, and full compliance ensures that projects meet both engineering standards and regulatory requirements.

We are proud to support Naval Base Kitsap in this ongoing mission and stand ready to deliver the same level of expertise, responsiveness, and commitment on future federal assignments.
