Sumner High School (Phase 1), Sumner, WA

RAM GeoServices played a key geotechnical role in the Sumner High School Replacement project, led by Principal Engineer Mark Rohrbach, PE, GE, P.Eng., F.ASCE. As the principal geotechnical engineer, Mr. Rohrbach authored both the February 2020 liquefaction evaluation and the May 2020 Geotechnical Engineering Report for Phase 1 of the project. These reports addressed critical ground improvement options and site-specific recommendations necessary for safely developing a new school facility on potentially liquefiable soils.
Throughout construction, RAM GeoServices oversaw all geotechnical exploration activities and maintained a comprehensive archive of historical and project-specific data, including boring logs, CPT results, and calibrated numerical models. This long-term, site-specific knowledge base allowed RAM to provide informed, cost-effective design input—significantly reducing redundancy and improving design accuracy. Their continued involvement ensured efficient collaboration, minimized delays, and delivered high-value engineering services rooted in deep site familiarity.
